To prevent a repeat invasion.
The contingent of foreign troops that may be sent to Ukraine as a peacekeeping mission is unlikely to be deployed along the front line.
This was stated on March 4 by independent Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Yurchenko to the Novyny.LIVE studio.
According to him, peacekeeping troops will likely be deployed in Volyn, Sumy, Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions.
“That is, where we can expect a repeat invasion from Belarus. This will give us the opportunity to rotate those who are currently defending our borders, holding back the forces [of Russian troops],” Yurchenko explained.
In this case, this will allow Ukrainian troops to increase their numbers in difficult sections of the front and conduct counteroffensive operations, the MP suggested.
