He said this before flying to the summit of European leaders in London.

The US position on the Russian war against Ukraine is "not as clear-cut" as in Poland. This "dilemma" must be overcome.

The Guardian reports this, citing Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

Tusk gave a short briefing at the airport before flying to London for the summit on Ukraine. He noted that the situation is complicated, and there is a "certain dilemma" in that the US position "is not as clear-cut as ours on the issue of Ukraine and Russia."

"But we must overcome this dilemma," the prime minister said, adding that Poland has excellent relations with the US and will strengthen them.

Tusk stressed that, given the recent events of the past weeks, Europe has woken up. He noted that at the summit he will call for more European troops on the eastern flank of the EU, in Finland, the Baltic countries and Poland.

"Think about how this sounds: 500 million Europeans are asking 300 million Americans to protect them from 130 million Russians," Tusk said.
