UK And France Begin Work On New Peace Plan For Ukraine

The European plan agreed with Ukraine will then be presented by the United States.
The United Kingdom, France and perhaps one or two other countries will work with Ukraine on a new peace plan that the United States will present.
This was announced by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, writes The Guardian.
Starmer noted that the relevant agreements were reached during discussions with the presidents of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and France Emmanuel Macron.
The British prime minister believes that "Trump wants to see lasting peace in Ukraine," despite his rhetoric and attitude towards Zelensky.
It is noted that by "lasting peace," Starmer means "the US defence mechanism," as well as "security guarantees" provided by European countries, and also "a strong Ukraine" armed with defense capabilities to resist a Russian invasion.
The worst outcome of all, Starmer said, was Russian ruler Vladimir Putin breaking the terms of the agreed ceasefire.
"I am very clear that if there is to be an agreement, if there is to be a cessation of hostilities, then that agreement has to be defended because the worst outcome of all is that there is a temporary pause and then Putin comes back," the UK leader said.
He added that "this has happened in the past" and so there was a need to make sure "that if an agreement is reached it is a long-term agreement and not a temporary pause."
