Massive Fire Engulfs Plastic Manufacturing Plant In Russia’s Kaluga Region

A powerful fire broke out at a plastics recycling plant in the Kaluga region of the Russian Federation on the night of February 21. In particular, the enterprise is burning near the village of Okorokovo in the Zhukovsky district, writes Obozrevatel.

This is reported in Russian public groups; the Russian Emergencies Ministry has a short message about "a fire in the Zhukovsky district in a warehouse of secondary raw materials." The fire began at about midnight and is still ongoing.

According to the latest data, the fire has spread to 1,000 square meters of the enterprise.

There is no official information about victims and injured.

Local residents say that a plastics recycling plant is on fire, and "the glow and a column of smoke are visible several kilometers away" from the city of Obninsk.

The causes of the incident are still unknown. Emergency services are working at the scene.
