The IDF is sending three more battalions there.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed the IDF to launch a major operation in the West Bank against terrorist centres.

The decision was made after a series of bus explosions in the suburbs of Tel Aviv the previous day.

This is reported by The Times of Israel.

The Office of the Israeli Prime Minister called these events with explosions an attempt of a massive attack.

Netanyahu's office also reported about the order to the police and ‘Shin Bet’ (or Shabak - a special service of Israel's intelligence system, engaged in counterintelligence activities and internal security of the state) to ‘increase preventive actions’ in the country's cities to avoid further attacks.

It is noted that the decisions were made after a meeting with Defence Minister Israel Katz, IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, Shin Bet head Ronen Bar and Police Commissioner Daniel Levy.

Update: IDF To Send More Battalions To West Bank

The Israel Defence Forces announced plans to send three more battalions as reinforcements to the West Bank. The decision comes after assessing the situation following the bus bombings in the Tel Aviv suburbs on Thursday night.

The Israeli military said they are constantly assessing the situation and are ‘preparing to expand offensive operations’.

The IDF added that ‘the counter-terrorism mission in northern Samaria continues at all times’ (the biblical name for northern areas of the West Bank is used in this statement).
