Exclusive Operation: Ukraine Strikes Russia's Secret Base

United drone operators from the 15th operational brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine "Kara-Dag" tracked the path to a secret Russian base via fiber optic cables to strike it with FPV drones. Forbes magazine wrote about this exclusive operation.

It is noted that the operation took place when the United States switched its attention from Ukraine to Russia - on the day of US-Russian talks in Saudi Arabia on February 18, south of the village of Vodyanoye in the southern part of the Donetsk region.

"Operators of the "Kara-Dag" brigade hunted for Russian drone groups. In particular, teams deploying fibre-optic drones… Ukraine has fewer troops and less artillery than Russia, but it has more and better drones… To maintain this drone advantage — and thus preserve Ukraine’s main means of resistance — the Ukrainians must thwart any Russian attempts to enhance their own robotic capabilities,” the publication says.

It is noted that on that day, Ukrainian fighters spotted the reflection of thin Russian fibre-optic cables:

“They followed the sunlight-reflecting fibres to the Russian team’s hidden base in snow-covered buildings and hit the Russian operators with explosive drones.”

Forbes called the strike “a tactical victory with a strategic message”: America may choose to bow to Russia, but Ukraine does not have to.
